Bobby Cox - the player's favorite manager

Fourth of July is over...the next big holiday is Labor Day, then the opening of the NFL...

Six more weeks until my fantasy football draft...

Having a summer cold sucks...

An interesting piece from Sports Illustrated...they polled 380 MLB players which manager they would most like to play for...the players could not vote for their own current managers...the results were: Bobby Cox, Braves 25%; Joe Torre, Dodgers 16%; Mike Scioscia 8%; Joe Maddon, Rays 8%; Terry Francona, Red Sox 7%

Sports Illustrated then asked who are the managers they would not want to play for...the results were: Lou Piniella, Cubs 26%; Ozzie Guillen, White Sox 21%; Tony LaRussa, Cardinals 10%; Joe Torre, Dodgers 4%; Eric Wedge, Indians 4%...

I am surprised that LaRussa received 10% of the vote for least wanting to play for...LaRussa has this image of being a baseball mastermind...another surprise was the Detroit Jim Leyland did not make the top five managers who players wanted to play for...
