Non-Stop Biking Stuff 10 a.m - 9 p.m. 7-11-08

Today, Friday, 7-11-08, started off as a day of riding beginning at 10 a.m. and finishing up around 9 p.m.. I left the house at 10 a.m. to gas up the cycle and & do a little running around before meeting Janice (my wife) & David at Luby's Restaurant here in Wichita Falls Texas, for lunch. From there, David & I rode to Archer City Texas, back up through Bowie Texas to St. Jo Texas where we ended up at the Biker Roadhouse. We then came back to Wichita Falls to barely make it to Surles Loan, where I picked up my vest that I had additional patches sewn on (Blue Knights vest), by Sheila. We got there 5 minutes before she left the shop. I then went home and got cleaned up and met my friends that I ride with, that most of you that view this blog on a regular basis know, at Cheddar's Restaurant here in Wichita Falls for dinner. So scroll on down and check out today's activities. Be sure to click on the "older posts" link at the bottom of EACH page to see more rides/events & posts, back to Jan. 08. REMEMBER: IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE PICTURE BIGGER, JUST CLICK ON THE PICTURE.

David took this pic of me & Janice in Luby's, just prior to David & I leaving town for a run to the Biker Roadhouse in St. Jo Texas.

We went the long way to St. Jo today. Here is David Southbound on Tx Hwy 79, enroute to Archer City, where he wanted to get some sunglasses at a store there. Note his new chrome drink holder he bought at Eddie Hills Fun Cycles yesterday.

Another view of David rolling down Tx Hwy 79.

A view ahead of the long road to Archer City...Not much to see except a bunch of dead skunks every 100 yards or so...And in the hot Texas sun, those things were RIPE!!!

Here we are stopped at a DQ to get something to drink...Actually, to be truthful, this picture is WAY out of sync..This is the Dairy Queen parking lot in Henrietta Texas on the way back...

After going through Archer City, Bowie, Vashti and a host of other small towns, we arrive at the Biker Roadhouse in St. Jo Texas. Her is David & Toxie. Toxie is the owner of the Biker Roadhouse. The Biker Roadhouse is biker owned & operated and all bikers are welcome..Toxie has a cast on his right wrist due to having, what Toxie called, "some repair work done"

Here is Vanese posing with Henry (the bull). You can read about Henry in the post on the Biker Roadhouse, back in the Archives around March or April..You can click on the archives on the left side of the page to get to the post or scroll down and keep clicking on the older posts link at the bottom of each page until ya get to it..Henry has an interesting history..

Toxie & Vanese, in The Biker Roadhouse (motorcycle accessories/apparel shop) in St, Jo, Texas. They are great folks and we hope your wrist heals quickly Toxie, so you can get back in the wind...

Here I am outside of the Biker Roadhouse with our bikes..

Here is David outside with the bikes at the Biker Roadhouse in St. Jo, Texas

We left St. Jo and flew low all the way back to Wichita Falls to get to Surles Loan before Sheila left at 5 p.m. We got there at 4:54 p.m. David put on my vest and poses. Of course, now we know what David's aspirations are..To replace me as President in 2 years when my term is up..

Here is David & the front view..He likes that Presidents patch....

I retrieve my vest & David had me put it on for these photo's. Don't ya just love the sweat soaked levi's. But never fear!!! I used my Anti Monkey Butt Powder and other than being wet, it didn't bother me at all...That stuff really works and if I say it works, then it does because I sweat like a bad boy in church....

The front...Hi Mom!!! I told ya I would wear the t-shirt...She sent that to me for July 4th, from Michigan..

We left Surles and David went home to get ready for a hot date and I headed home to shower & get out of the wet clothes. I just walked in and Russ called & wanted me to meet him & Linda & a few other of our friends at Cheddar's. As I was getting ready, Rodney & Vicki called and wanted to go get a bite to eat..So, we all met at Cheddar's. Janice couldn't go as she was working the Bellamy Brothers concert downtown at the coliseum. Here is Steve & Sissy.

Steve plants a wet one on Sissy, his wife. I am still trying to figure out her facial expression..

Here Steve tries again with the "ol' blowing gently in her ear" routine..Doesn't work for me with Janice either, Steve...

Giving up, Steve just lets the love flow & tells it like it is with sign language.

Here I am with Vicki & Rodney..He & I used to be partners many years ago about the time God put dirt down on the Earth.

Me & Vicki...She is a sweetheart and a lot of fun...I KNOW she puts up with a lot of grief from Buzz..Oh yeah Vicki is Buzz's wife.

Aw, shucks ya'll....I see no grief whatsoever. Pure love...She's a keeper Buzz..

In case you missed it, here is the love again, with smiles....I love these folks..You couldn't ask for any better friends than the folks at the table and a few others that couldn't make it..

Here is Russ & Linda, his wife. We also go back a LONG way. Why, I remember a time at our academy graduation party that one of us flipped a hamburger on the grill and it never came down & we never did find it...We think an angel got a burger for dinner that day..

In a case of similarities, Linda plants a wet one on Russ..However, Russ has the typical male reaction, completely opposite of Sissy's reaction to Steve's wet one on her. As a matter of fact, I know Russ SO well, that I can tell you his exact thought at the moment in his exact words..That being: ...HOT DAMN!!! I mean come on now...Look at his face.. Is not that the look of pure anticipation?

Here is Russ, Jason ( our waiter) & Linda..Remind me to tell ya sometime of the "please can we have extra onions & pickles for the table" story

As the dinner concluded, and we were leaving, we saw an old friend and former coworker , Don and his wife. Sorry, Sarge, I cannot remember your wife's name...Please email me and I will edit this and get it right..

Outside, Steve & I get our picture taken...

We got a total stranger to take the group picture. Usually, this doesn't work out but this time, we found someone who actually knew how to take a picture...Here are: Steve & Sissy, Rodney & Vicki, Russ & Linda & me...

The guy actually took two and both turned out! Left to right: Steve & Sissy, Rodney & Vicki, Russ, Linda & me. Thanks again ya'll for inviting me..I had a great time and nobody shot at me because of the camera, so I will count this as a successful night..

Prior to leaving I got a pic of Rodney & Vicki & their Harley's. Vicki loves her new, white Harley

The final shot of the day is another view of Vicki & Rodney & their Harley's. Rodney & Vicki followed me to the house for a while and then headed out to pick up Rianne, their daughter.

This will conclude this post. Continue scrolling down for more rides/ events & posts and don't forget to click on the older posts link at the bottom of each page for more of the same back to Jan. 08. Tomorrow, we give a biker escort from a church to the cemetery for a local biker who was killed in a m/c accident the other day. If any pics are taken, outside the church, of the bikes attending & on the road during the escort, & at the cemetery, they will be posted here. Until next post, be careful out there, PLEASE ride safe and keep the rubber on the road.....................JOHN aka "Snapshot"
