This is a pic of the bikes outside of the La Gitana Cantina, the oldest bar in the oldest inhabited town site in Arizona.
Me out front of the cantina..
The sign above the door when you enter the cantina.
The Marines must of been here. The U.S.M.C. flag on the ceiling...
Dale at the table in the cantina.
Fern, the bartender & a local old timer at the bar..
Out next to the cantina is the ruins of the old bordello...
The end of the town street and city limit s of Arivaca.
The sign at the end of the street pointing to our next destination, Sasabe & the Mexican border..
At Sasabe the only thing I saw was the border crossing..Here is Dale & Bill at the sign..
Here I am at the sign and as close to being in Mexico as I ever want to be, tourist locations or no...
Me on the sign with the checkpoint/crossing behind me
Miss Clone at the border.
The U.S./Mexico border entry at Sasabe Arizona.
And the sign for our friends returning to the South..
Leaving the border, this is the view you have of 286 North.
Here we are 286 Northbound & heading back to Tucson.
This is Baboquivari Peak, off to our left. Bill says it is a very sacred location to the Indians. For more info on Baboquivari Peak click on this link:http://www.peakware.com/peaks.html?pk=1172
Before getting to Tucson, Bill took a slight detour off the main road. We went down a dirt road maybe a mile and a half and got to this place, Fred's. Not only is it a restaurant but also where they repair old wagons like contessa wagons of the 1800's. They also have some ClydesDale horses there. Here is Bill & Dale out front.
