Talihina, Talimena & Mena Run 21/22 Jun 08 Day 2 Part 1

Sunday morning, 22 Jun 08, we got up and left Arkansas for home. While the weather had been nice & cool in the mountains, when we hit the flatlands it got HOT...Dustin ran to Wally World (WAL-MART) and got a light colored long sleeve shirt so as not to get fried to a crisp on the way home. So, scroll on down and check out the ride home on this Post, Day 2 Part 1. REMEMBER: if you want to see the pic bigger, click on the picture.....

These our mine & Russ's bikes being loaded up prior to the departure from the motel in De Queen Arkansas for our return trip to Texas. Dustin had gone to get a long sleeve shirt at Wal-Mart for the ride back.

My bike & Russ's bike (black Harley) in front of our room as we put our stuff back in the saddlebags for the ride home. It was nice & cool there at 0730 a.m.

Our bikes & Dustin & Russ by the Motel office after our checking out..Russ is consulting the map as to the route home.

Russ takes a final look before we go...

Here we are on Hwy 70, westbound out of De Queen Arkansas. Russ is up front with Dustin right behind

I think we went south on Highway 2. Or North on Highway 1 or was it Hwy 63?

Russ & Dustin heading down the road on the way home..

We picked up some folks on the way and fell in behind them. Russ is on the right #2 slot & Dustin is left #3 slot

Here are some bikes passing us going East.. We saw hundreds of bikes in the mountains & in the little towns along the way

Here we are doing 70 mph on Hwy 70...

The bikes parked in the Lake Murray Lodge parking lot. Lake Murray is just outside Ardmore Oklahoma

Dustin & Russ leaving our shade tree, thus calling an end to the butt rest in Antlers OK.

Another biker passes us in Antlers Ok.

I took a picture of Russ on Hwy 259 thinking the lead bike was him..I was wrong..Russ is the 2nd bike

Dustin & Russ at the Beaver Bend Resort in Arkansas. Dustin & my daughter are getting married in August 08 and this is where they are coming for the honeymoon

The resort is off of Hwy 259 and is back in here somewhere on Hwy 259A

Riding through the area looking for the resort. Russ & Dustin taking a sharp curve

Back out on the road, we crossed over a spillway. Russ with Dustin behind him on the spillway

Dustin & Russ stop to take pics.

Another view of Broken Bow Lake. I plan on going back to this area with Janice & getting a cabin for a weekend. Beautiful country!!

Russ just about lost his left road peg so we pulled over on Hwy 70 so he could fix it..

Here he is getting his tool kit out..

Here Russ is fixing his road peg. The bolt was very loose. He checked the right road peg after fixing the left & that was loose too. So he fixed it. That will conclude this post.
