Tucson Az Run 4-23-08 Day 12

On Wednesday 4-23-08, we took a run to Patagonia Az to see Nate, a friend of Bill's. Bill is world renown in the area of butterfly & moth collecting and has been mentioned in numerous articles & books related to the subject. Universities have contacted him & have sent him to various places to look for different species of critters & Bill is usually successful in finding what he is sent to find..Nate also collects butterflies & moths but has a collection of giant beetles from all over the world you would have to see to believe. Anyway, above is a pic of the bikes on the side of the road (AZ82) where we parked while Bill went looking for a particular species of butterfly that only comes out at certain times & in certain weather. REMEMBER: if ya want to see it bigger, click the picture.

On the way back from Patagonia, between Patagonia & Sonoita, out in the middle of nowhere, we came up a US Border Patrol Checkpoint. We stopped and talked for a minute before they had to board & check some buses..Here is a pic of our Border Patrol at work.

Two more Border Patrol officers cool off in the shade..It was in the 90's that day.

Bill talks with them for a second..Keep up the good work guys!!! We appreciate the hard work that you do for our country....

We left there and went to Tiny's for some food & drinks..Here is Bill inside Tiny's
