Joe Mauer to the DL

Never good to hear that your catcher in the 2nd week of the season has to be put on the DL for leg weakness. Mauer had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in the offseason. With that he had a very light spring. But I have a bad feeling about the Twins all together this season.

If the White Sox could close a game they would be running away with this division. The Royals are a surprise team and the Tigers are always in the hunt. But with the loss of Mauer and the overall shittiness of Fransisco Liriano it could be a long year in Sota. I have a gut feeling this will be 1 of many injuries that slows Mauer down all season.

At least the Wolves have a shot at the number 1 pick in the NBA draft.

Josh Hamilton Is Injured

Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton is headed to the disabled list and is expected to miss six to eight weeks after breaking his upper right arm Tuesday while diving into home plate on a play he called "stupid."

What happened was there was a foul ball in 3rd base territory and no one was covering home plate and he tagged up and went. Josh blamed the third base coach on the play however, he needs to take some blame for this. The play was in front of him and he made the judgement call and ended up suffering the consequences. Maybe he shouldn't have slid head first anyways.

This is going to dent the Rangers line up for sure, as you are now replacing Josh Hamilton with David Murphy. The Rangers have a strong enough line up to still succeed without Hamilton, but still a big blow.

Andrew Bynum Injured

Bob's favorite player Andrew Bynum will undergo an MRI today for a hyper extended right knee.

This will kill the Lakers chances to be the in the championship if they lose him for an extended period of time. Bynum is the tough interior defender as well as a budding offensive player. He gives Pau Gasol room to dominate on the offensive end and makes up for his lack of defense.

With the Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder rolling, if Bynum misses a significant amount of time, they are fucked.

Shaq to play Sunday

There are a lot of if's and maybe when regarding Shaq coming back on Sunday from Chris Forsberg and Doc Rivers, but I'm proclaiming it a fact here on Dueling Couches that Shaq is 100% playing Sunday against Miami and if he doesn't may god strike me down.

Shaq is a big need. Jermaine has been playing well in limited minutes, so if we can get Shaq to around the 20 minute a game range that would be huge. Because we have 2 defensive centers that can play the whole game. As much as I like Krstic, he hasn't been that great since the first month he was on the team. He looks lost out there and hasn't been nearly as productive as I thought he would be. We are going to need Shaq's big body in there for the playoffs or we could be a second round knockout.
