MLB Draft Is Today

There is no Bryce Harpers in the MLB draft this year, but it is very heavy in arms. Here is who you should know:

Gerrit Cole, RHP, UCLA- Potential number 1 starter, dirty fastball, zero health concerns. Probably going number 1 to the Pirates.

Anthony Rendon 3rd base, Rice- Great bat, great defense, a bit of a shoulder injury, but should be fine whenever, he gets to the minors.

Trevor Bauer, RHP, UCLA- I like him almost better than Cole. He's more durable and has 3 plus pitches.

Dylan Bundy, RHP, Owasso (Okla.) HS- He can already touch 99 and is in High School. Has 3 good pitches and will be an unbelievable pro.

Bubba Starling, OF, Gardner Edgerton HS (Kan.)- This kid is a freak. He could play qb at Nebraska or be a pro next year. A legit 5 tool centerfielder.

Danny Hultzen, LHP, Virginia- Very safe pick and extremely consistent. May not have the upside as the guys mentioned above but still has a good arm.

i have no idea who the Red Sox are going to get.

Knicks Don't Re-Sign Donnie Walsh

Last Firday afternoon the news came out that the Knicks were able to bring back President Donnie Walsh. The man who single handedly brought the Knicks back to relevancy.

Walsh became the Knicks president on April 2, 2008. Remarkably, it only took him roughly three years to right the ship in New York, cleaning up the horrific mess that Isiah Thomas left.

Walsh was able to creatively move all these giant contract and eventually found a way to get Amare Stoudemire and able to eventually make the trade for Carmelo.

James Dolan is out of his mind, and you know what he's going to do? Bring Isiah back. This move makes no sense, I guess Walsh only wanted a one year deal and the Knicks wanted to sign him long term, but who cares? Sign him for 1 year and deal with it next year.

Oh well.... looks like the Knicks will be back to being the laughing stock of the NBA again.

88 Heat, 86 Mavs

2 games until I'm on suicide watch. I hate watching this series, because the Mavs go down by a million points and then come back so you can't ever shut the game off in disgust. And who last night decided to punch me in the dick, Chris fucking Bosh. You know I have to give the guy credit, all of us have chalked it up to this guy sucks, but he won as many games for the Heat as Lefag and Wade. Bosh hit a token KG jumper for the win (figuring Dirk missed a tough fade away at the buzzer).

I don't know what to think about this series, I really really really want the Heat to lose it, but they are playing such awesome defense and not making stupid turnovers. I have nothing else to say, but I went to sleep last night cursing.

6 Sox, 3 Oakland

John Lackey did the job. It may not be the best line ever, 5.1 innings 3 earned runs, 2ks, but he got the win. I don't think many of us expect a better line than that going forward, but we will take it. John Lackey is our 4th starter, I don't care how much he's paid, as long as he doesn't give up more than 4 runs a start I don't care.

Now for people I like talking about, Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez were responsible for 5 of the 6 runs the Sox scored this afternoon. Crawford hit a 3-run home run into the bullpen in the second inning off of Brett Anderson. Then Adrian Gonzalez hit a 2 run blast into the monster 2 innings later to put the A's away for good. David Ortiz went 3-4 and is amazing, he is now hitting .325 for the season. Salty had a 3-for-4 game of his own with a triple and 2 singles.

But isn't Adrian Gonzalez the best hitter anyone has ever seen in a Sox uniform. Since I never saw Ted play, I guess the comparisons would be Manny and Wade Boggs, and they never were able to do what this guy has done thus far.

We are a game back against the Yankees heading into NY this week.

95 Mavs, 93 Heat

Well thank god the Mavs won this game because it looked like it was going to be over in the 4th. Miami took a 15 point lead only to squash it in the 4th and it was capped off by Dirk Nowitzki making the tiebreaking layup with 3.6 seconds left.

The final play was a thing of beauty, Jason Kidd dribbled the ball down to 10 seconds then gave it to Dirk at the top of the key with Chris Bosh defending. Instead of settling with an off balance jumper or a fade away, dirk took it to Chirs Bosh spun passed him and got an uncontested lay up.

The next 3.6 seconds were terrifying as Lebron pushed it up passed it to Dwayne Wade and he got a look 4 steps beyond the arc that barely missed.

This was a huge game as the Mavs stole home court back and won what has to be a mentally exhausting game for the Heat. The series is tied at 1-1.

Ricky Rubio Agrees To Play For the Wolves

Finally!

The Wolves finally get to see the guy they drafted with the 5th overall pick 2 years ago. Rubio is a hell of a talent and being called the Pistol Pete of Europe. When he got drafted he didn't feel like playing for the Wolves so he decided to stay in Europe and play professionally there.

However, now he's coming off two seasons with FC Barcelona, where he only averaged 6.5 points and 3.5 assists in 22.4 minutes per game last season. So that's kind of eye popping.

I don't know if he'll be the next big thing, but his highlights are certainly fun to watch.

Dice K Needs Tommy John

Red Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka has elected to have Tommy John ligament replacement surgery on his right elbow and intends to inform the team of his decision when he meets with club officials this week, according to a baseball source. ESPN

This is huge news for the Red Sox who lost their pitcher to put them over the hump. The thing that sucks the most is that he tried every option before realizing he had to get this done. This may be the last time we ever see Dice K in a Sox uniform as he is a free agent after this year and the recovery time is a little over a year.

Dice K finished his Red Sox career with a 49-30 record with a 4.25 era and 568 Ks. To put that in persecutive that's a lower ERA than Josh Becketts Red Sox career era and a pretty good winning percentage to boot. I'm not going to say that the season is over, but it looks glum with this more than significant loss.

7 White Sox, 4 Red Sox

Well we were swept by the White Sox.

Wakefield pitched very well in the beginning of the game, good enough to win. The Sox even had a 3-0 lead early in the game. The wheels started to come off for Wakefield as he gave up 1 in the 4th inning, two in the 5th inning, and 1 more in the sixth. Wake was pulled after the sixth (6 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 1 K), valiant effort.

David Ortiz hit a solo shot in the bottom of the 6th to give Wakefield the no-decision. That was it for the Sox as Chicago put up 3 unanswered runs through the final 3 innings to win this one, 7-4 and pick up the 3 game sweep of Boston. The Red Sox have now lost 4 straight.... gay.

Ortiz and Pedroia were the only ones to pick up multi hit games. Rich Hill left this game in the seventh with a forearm injury to his throwing arm. Looked real bad.

1 Vancouver, 0 Bruins

I guess I'll do it since the Captain is probably in a ditch drunk somewhere cursing Celtics fans for some odd god reason.

It was pretty evident that these were the two best teams in the NHL during this heart pounding gaming 1. Through 59.5 minutes of the game it was knotted up at 0. Roberto Luongo and Tim Thomas were putting on a goal tending clinic as Luongo stopped 36 and Thomas stopped 33.

But with 18.5 seconds left, during a shift change they took advantage of a turnover by Johnny Boychuck, Jannik Hansen stole the puck and had a perfect pass to Raffi Torres for the game winner. Many people will bitch and moan that the officiating missed an offside call due to Hansens raised foot, but it seemed clean to me. To be honest, "us" as Bruins fans shouldn't be complaining about officiating at all because these whole playoffs including last night "we" never got the short end of the stick. Both Tim Thomas and Andrew Ference took blatant dives last night that changed the outcome of the game in the Bruins favor.

To take the positive outlook to this game, Vancouver was the heavily favored team and they were only able to hold them to 1 goal. The Bruins power play defense was unbelievable, they were in the passing and shooting lanes all game. And 1st liner for the Canucks Alex Burrows will most likely be suspended next game for biting Patrice Bergeron.

Another thing that I may be the only one with this thought, and I was all for it before, but I don't like Chara in front of the net anymore. I think he's better used humming the puck at the net than looking for deflections.

It was certainly a heartbreaking loss and a loss they quickly need to move passed, because if they take the next game in Vancouver they did their jobs.

I Can't Ignore it, The Heat Are 3 Games From Me Seriously Considering Committing Suicide

I went to bed at halftime, something woke me up when there was 1 minute left in the game. I believe that was God's way of playing a practical joke on me. "This will be funny, Dave is asleep and having a dream about him and Kate Upton, let me wake him up from that to see the Heat win" Thanks God, that was a punch to the dick.

the Heat are 3 games away from taking the title. the Scary thing is that they held Dallas to 84 points. Yes, Dallas shot horribly and missed A LOT of open looks, but this isn't a great way to start off the series. If you look at the positives for Dallas you can say they held Miami to 92 points, They missed a ton of open looks, and it could have been rust from the layoff. I'll bank on that, but more and more it looks like LeDouche is going to be winning his 1st title..... Shucks.

I have always been a Hockey hater and could care less about the sport. I was pumped actually when the sport went on strike because it didn't waste my Sportscenter time. But I'll admit it, I'm rooting for the Bruins. I'm not going to act like I know a lot about hockey or any of the players. I like Michael Ryder and Tim Thomas, and that's the extent of my hockey knowledge. I have no idea who's on Vancouver, I could care less. But with the Celtics tanking, the Red Sox not winning in a couple of years, it's about time we get another parade here in Boston and go back to the top of the sports world so we can be smug to all other fans across the country.

So here are my predictions for this series.

Bruins in 6, Ryder with 6 goals in the series, wins MVP and I get to be a thorn in every Bruins side by saying I told you so.

I Believe We have Seen The Last Of Terrelle Pryor At Ohio State

1st we have Jim Tressel resigning from Ohio State after the turmoil surrounding him, now the NCAA has released a seperate investigation surrounding highly touted, yet disappointing qb Terrelle Pryor and him having a million cars.

"Pryor drove up to a players-only team meeting on Monday night in a coal-black Nissan 350Z sports car with 30-day plates. The automotive information site Edmunds.com lists a recent, used 350Z, which it calls "a proper sports car for the everyman," as costing between $16,000 and $27,000.

Pryor was stopped three times for traffic violations over the past three years, each time driving cars that were owned by Kniffin or a Columbus used-car dealership where he worked, the Dispatch has reported. Kniffin, owner Jeff Mauk of Jack Maxton Chevrolet, Inc., and Jason Gross of Auto Direct Columbus, Inc., each provided affidavits to Ohio State officials earlier this month." ESPN

Well that seems pretty open and shut don't you think. How did no one ever question this or question where he got these from? This isn't like a Cam Newton situation, Pryor was contently flashing the cars around campus around. Ohio State is going to go down big time and I wouldn't be surprised if all the records they have will be wiped out.

10 White Sox, 7 Red Sox

It was too little too late. When the Red Sox offense awoke, we already had given up on the game and the lead was insurmountable. Phil fucking Humber and Sexy Alexei Ramirez tore through the Red Sox. Alexei was 4-5 and Philip Humber went 7 innings giving up a home run to Jason Queeratek. But then the 8th happened Humber gave up hits to Josh Reddick, Drew Sutton, and Kevin Youkilis. He was relieved by Will Ohman and he gave up a bomb to David Ortiz for a three run bomb. The good luck continued in the ninth as Reddick and Sutton drove in two more runs to inch the Sox closer but Adrian Gonzalez got caught looking at a third strike to squash any hopes of a comeback.

I don't mind this loss though, Alfredo Aceves gave up a fuck ton of runs. He's on borrowed time and should be his last start until....... Lackey returns. Alfredo Aceves got roughed up against this White Sox offense, giving up eight earned runs in just five innings pitched.

They've lost three straight to end what has been a remarkable May and finish the month 19-10.
